Today’s post and chats for our “Press Pause and Play on” week focus on Manipulative Play and Construction Play. I have created these images to share some of the benefits associated with these types of play, and of course to offer some play inspiration too! In my stories today I chatted all about these important types of play and spent time focusing on how, and why, they are beneficial for all children, not just young ones!! I kickstarted #presspauseandplayon week today by chatting all about Sensory Play! I have shared some of the incredible benefits associated with sensory play and lots of lovely sensory play ideas too. These are just a few of the bits I shared in my stories today! My aim this week is to raise awareness about different types of play and the many incredible benefits of play. I hope to support and empower parents and professionals to use more play everyday, and of course bring more play into the lives of as many children as possible!

As we return to another week of remote teaching and learning I have decided to focus on my favourite thing, PLAY!!! Those of you who have been following me for a while know that I like to say, “when things get tough press pause and play on!!” So this week I really want to celebrate the #presspauseandplayon approach! Each day this week I will focus on a different type of play and possibly sing and dance about it 🤣 I will share information about different types of play, the benefits of play, and of course play ideas too! As we gear up to re-enter the world of remote learning and teaching please remember that play is the way!!! Play is fun, play is meaningful, play fosters and supports development in all key areas of development. Please also remember that play is not just for young children. The benefits of play do not stop just because a child has turned a certain age! Play and be playful, it will serve you well. If things get tough, press pause and play!
