The therapeutic use of art, music and story. Creative interventions for working with children and teenagers.
Facilitator: Edel Lawlor ONLINE COURSE
22nd November 2020 Fee: €110
This experiential training will focus on creative ways to engage, support, and connect with children and teenagers using the therapeutic powers of art, music and story! At times it can be challenging to successfully engage children or teenagers in therapeutic work. It can be difficult for children and teenagers to express themselves fully, to relate to us, to open up and share their inner worlds and conflicts. Using art, music and story can engage children at a much deeper level. These creative approaches bring fun, joy, laughter and relationships. They also provide opportunities for children and teenagers to express themselves safely and to gain deeper understanding and insight into themselves and the world around them. Lots of creative activities that can be used with children and teenagers will be explored in a fun and creative way. Join us to fill up your therapeutic tool box!

Facilitator: Ber Carroll ONLINE COURSE 21st Nov 2020 Fee: €110
Have you ever wondered what it might be like for a child who has sensory attachment issues? If asked what their perspective was on their relationships with the adults who care for them and on how they, the children, view the world what would they say? What are their needs and challenges? How can we meet those needs? If you are interested in exploring these questions and more why not join us online to find the answers as we present this workshop through the voice of the child.

This innovative day will draw on the works of Levine, Perry, Crittenden, Schore and Breathnach and integrate the facilitators many years of experience in the education sector, and as a Parent Mentor, Play Therapist and Sensory Attachment Intervention Practitioner. This course will provide you with information that will help you to understand Sensory Attachment Intervention and will assist you in supporting children in your care. The aim of this training day is to provide you with further knowledge that will help deepen your understanding of challenging behaviours that arise out of sensory and attachment issues.
