Facilitating Parenting Support: Creative Interventions, Metaphors and Symbols

This workshop is part of a series of training events which support this diversification of practice by therapists and other suitably qualified professionals.This live online experiential course will focus on facilitating parenting support, both in 1:1 sessions and in group settings. The intensive workshop will provide rich learning in a fun and interactive way and will enhance skills, confidence and competence of those in attendance. During the day we will explore and develop skills for:

• Nurturing parents,
• Linking Dr Bruce Perry’s six R’s in parenting support,
• Facilitating parents from different backgrounds and delivering interventions/programmes to suit their needs,
• Understanding parenting struggles,
• Using metaphorical work and symbols in parenting support,
• Using creative interventions in supporting parents,
• Setting up your own parenting workshop and parenting programmes,
• Recognising our own experiences in the stories of those we work with and how to explore this through supervision/therapy,
• Setting up a nurturing space for parents,
• Supporting self-care and mindfulness.
