Hi All,

Happy Friday and Happy Long Weekend! We hope you all have a wonderful Saint Patrick’s weekend ahead.

As some of you know, world renowned pioneer and expert in the Play Therapy field, Dr. Sue Bratton, is coming to Ireland! Sue was Assistant Director, when Dr Garry Landreth was Director, at the Centre for Play Therapy for 14 years. Then, in 2003, she took over as Director when Garry retired. They have written and presented extensively together throughout the world. It is an absolute honour to have Sue train for us in Ireland. She has definitely been one of the most formative influencers in our professional development!

On the 9thand 10th June 2024, at the Castletroy Park Hotel in Limerick, Sue will deliver a truly unique two-day training event exploring pertinent questions in relation to enhancing and deepening the play therapy process.

This event promises to be the training event of the year for all who use and value the flexible use of Play Therapy and recognise the uniqueness of each child! We would love to have you join us for this training and are excited to be able to offer an early bird rate and an extra discounted rate to all students and also to CTC graduates! Any question you have ever had about play therapy dynamics, as related to the child, the therapist, or the relationship is likely to be considered in this interactive training event (details attached).

A second bonus in terms of International Training events for you is that you may also avail of a reduced rate for the Restorative Attachment training with Dr Cathy Malchiodi on 7th April 24. We are all aware of how important the attachment relationship is for all our clients and how we need to focus on building or restoring a positive attachment if healing is to be complete. Cathy's model is a purposeful and integrative form of psychotherapy that utilizes a combination of movement, rhythm, enactment, image making, synchrony, and narrative. In other words, it is key that each approach include multiple sensory experiences to capture reparative and restorative moments between children and caregivers. The restorative attachment model emphasises the S.A.G.E. Model – how Synchrony, Attunement, Grounding, and Engagement are enhanced by the integrative approaches found in expressive arts therapy.

Hoping to see you in April and/or June!
