This practical live online workshop is designed for professionals working with families dealing with parental separation and/or divorce. This experiential training will include a mix of theory and experiential work aimed at increasing participant’s understanding of how parental separation and/or divorce can affect both parents and children. Supportive strategies for the whole family will be explored.

There will be a large focus on exploring ways to empower parents to support their children and teenagers as they come to terms with parental separation. We will explore strategies for members of the family system to support the child while also managing their own level of distress and grief. The day is designed to equip participants with tools to better support children and teenagers who have experienced family breakdowns, parental separation and/or divorce. . Creative tools and supportive activities to facilitate processing for children and teens who have experienced this difficult life event will be explored and practiced. We will also explore creative ways to support children and whole families through the grieving process.

This day is an ideal course to do in advance of ‘Supporting children, teenagers and families through Complex parental separation and divorce’ on 19th November.

This day is an ideal follow on from ‘Supporting children, teenagers and families through parental separation and divorce’ on 5th November or for somebody looking to develop skills in this area.

This intensive live online workshop is designed for professionals working with families dealing with complex parental separation and/or divorce. This experiential training will include a mix of theory and experiential work aimed at increasing participant’s confidence and skill set in approaching this work. This course will consider the additional dynamics that arise when separation includes Domestic Abuse, cheating, narcissism, removal of parent due to abuse.
Paying particular attention to the influence to the impact of the child – abuser relationship, inconsistent access and high conflict situations on therapy.
There will be a strong focus on guiding clinical decision making while holding ethical considerations paramount. The course will explore how to support a family experiencing parental alienation.Time will be given to develop strategies that will support the therapist in identifying techniques which may be used by parents in an attempt to gain bias, as well as strategies to identify and avoid collusion.

Understanding and Working with Eating Disorders in Children and Adolescents.

This innovative online workshop will develop participants understanding of eating disorders and the various ways they can develop. Participants will learn about the physical impact of eating disorders and the importance of partnering with the family and the medical professions in treatment. Contemporary theories and models of working with eating disorders will be explored along with creative techniques to engage children and adolescents in therapy. This workshop will be experiential in nature and suitable for those working with young people impacted by eating disorders, and for those who wish to learn more about this important area of work.

Diploma in Creative Supervision - Starting February 2023

Creative Supervision includes the use of action methods and creative approaches in the supervision of therapists and other staff involved in therapeutic work. This innovatory course brings together current theories of supervision, including the Seven-Eyed Supervision Model developed by Robin Shohet, Joan Wilmot, and Peter Hawkins, and practical creative skills. These strategies will also prove useful in the mentoring and consultative roles that are part and parcel of many therapists’ professional life. This course focuses on utilising new and innovative approaches including the creative arts, lateral thinking, and playful activities in the supervision process. Core trainers are Joan Wilmot, Simon Kerr-Edwards, David LeVay and Monique McEvoy. We are now accepting and processing applications for the 2023 course.
