I hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend ahead. We are facilitating our very popular “Soothing Transitions & Separations” webinar again on Thursday 29th September. This live online course will look at supporting children who find it difficult to leave a parent or carer. It is suitable for parents and carers and also for professionals working with children. It will be particularly beneficial for parents and carers of children who may experience difficulties with transitions and separations and for teachers and ECCE practitioners. An ideal one to complete if you have any children in your life who are finding the transition into or indeed back to school difficult. As always, this CTC webinar will be facilitated by a highly experienced child and adolescent psychotherapists with a specialisation in play therapy.

Helping the child who finds it hard to leave caregivers

During the webinar we will:

  • Explore the difference between separation anxiety, anxiety at separating and transition difficulties.
  • Look at the experience for the child, the caregiver and the other adults involved, exploring what will help and support all involved to help the child overcome their difficulty.
  • Explore how to use play to soothe the anxiety, using games and books therapeutically.
  • Consider targeted interventions which can increase security and safety at times of transitions.
The course is designed to equip professionals, and parents and carers, with helpful tools for the children in their care.
