Maggie Fearn MA DATP; BAPT: MA Psychotherapy and Play Therapy
Maggie is the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs at CTC. She was a play practitioner for more than 30 years, gaining her first MA (Developmental and Therapeutic Play) at Swansea University in 2009. She was a Forest School practitioner 2001 - 2015. She trained in Body & Earth experiential anatomy and authentic movement, investigating strategies for supporting developmental movement and sensory awareness during outdoor play. Maggie retired as a senior lecturer in the University of South Wales in 2022, where she taught on the MSc Play Therapy. She completed her training as a play therapist and child psychotherapist with the Children’s Therapy Centre, Ireland in 2016. She is currently a Senior Practitioner with The Windfall Centre providing therapeutic services for children and their families in South and West Wales. She has many published articles and book chapters, and a particular interest in neurobiology, movement and nature-based play therapy. Maggie is a wonderful addition to our staff team, she teaches interpersonal neurobiology and play, and therapeutic use of self to 1st and 3rd year MA students and is a dissertation supervisor for our 4th year MA students.
