An Experiential Learning Experience of the use of Creative Techniques in Supervision
This day will offer participants a brief introduction to theoretical perspective on the use of creative methods in clinical supervision practice. Supervisors attending this training will then participate experientially in learning or extending their learning on the use of a number of creative techniques for use in supervision. The day will provide opportunity to work in small groups on each technique, discuss the experiences of this in the smaller group and engage in collegiate discussion in the larger forum. The day is an introduction and skill building session that will introduce clinical supervisors with a range of techniques for use in practice. Participants will develop skills which can be used to explore clinical presentations more deeply, address issues of counter-transference, parallel process and therapist’ use of self, and reflection on therapy practice and on the structuring of practice, and aids to clinical decision-making . There will be lots of play and experiential learning built into the day. It is a practical and thought provoking introduction to the use of creativity in the field of clinical supervision.
There will be a presentation on creative modalities and experientials on use of art, sculpting, dramatizing, sand tray and working with the body.

Anne has an impressive background in teaching and psychotherapy. She has been a practicing psychotherapist for over twenty years, handling a wide range of client issues for people of all ages. She is a qualified therapeutic supervisor, having training in the field of Creative Supervision. Anne is a gifted trainer of counsellors, psychotherapists, and play therapists with a particular expertise in experiential learning approaches. She is also active as a trainer in the field of adult education, training people entering the therapeutic field and the fields of human care, especially childcare and special needs. Anne has devised and delivered her own courses and courses for a range of statutory education bodies. She has a part-time therapeutic practice and trains for a range of bodies including CTC and Northside Counselling Services Ltd. She is committed to excellence in delivering training to adults. Anne teaches on a number of CTC courses including the MA programme and our level 6 courses in Dublin. Anne is also a CTC supervisor.
