In today’s fast-paced and often challenging world, our understanding of the profound impact trauma can have on children and young people has significantly increased. We now know that traumatic experiences can deeply affect their mental health and development, manifesting in various behavioural and emotional challenges. As clinicians, teachers, therapists, play therapists, social workers and practitioners, it is crucial to equip ourselves with the right tools and knowledge to support these young individuals effectively. The course “Post-Traumatic Growth in Children and Young People: “Healing Through the Therapeutic Powers of Play” is designed specifically to explore this need.

Trauma in childhood can manifest in various ways, from hyperarousal and anxiety to withdrawal and somatisation. Understanding the intricacies of trauma and post-traumatic growth is essential for anyone working closely with children and young people. This course provides a framework that helps professionals identify signs of trauma, understand its impact and utilise play as a powerful therapeutic tool. This course is suitabe for professionals working with children, teenagers and families.
